Six years that build the base.
Primary is where a child becomes a reader, a problem-solver and someone who finishes things. We follow the CBC closely: English, Kiswahili, maths, science, social studies, creative arts, agriculture and religious education. Afternoons are for sport, music and clubs.
Reading well in English and Kiswahili, number sense, handwriting, and the habit of asking why. Lots of movement and lots of talk.
Longer pieces of work, first projects, science you can touch. Children start to look after their own books, kit and homework.
Class leaders, more responsibility, and steady preparation for KPSEA at the end of Grade 6. Pupils move up to Junior Secondary already knowing its teachers.
